What happens during a cross-chain swap?
A cross-chain swap moves value between separate networks. Depending on current route availability, Bitlok Wallet can use source or destination assets across Bitcoin, BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, TRON, and Solana.
The swap lifecycle
First, the wallet requests a quote. The quote estimates output, fees, and route conditions at that moment. After you approve and submit, the source-chain transaction must confirm before the bridge can process the delivery.
The output transaction is separate from the source transaction. It can take additional time because the destination chain also needs to process it.
Why the final amount can differ
A quote can change because market price, available liquidity, network gas, and protocol fees change before processing. Slippage settings define the amount of price movement you are prepared to accept for supported routes.
Only sign after reviewing the source asset, destination asset, estimated receive amount, fees, and destination address.
Quick safety checklist
- Confirm the selected source and destination networks.
- Keep the source network's native fee asset available: BTC, BNB, ETH, TRX, or SOL as applicable.
- Wait for the route status instead of submitting the same swap twice.
- Use the source and delivery explorer links in swap history to track progress.
